What is Trail Mix?
Trail mix was invented by ancient nomads who were experts at creating portable, high-energy snacks that withstood weather and did not need cooking.
Today Trail Mix, is the ultimate super-healthy in-between meal snack and with your branding an excellent statement of business philosophy to your customers or clients.
The following recipe is simply a guide to help those of you interested in creating your own Trail Mix.

40% Organic Raw Cashews – are a good base for any trail mix as they are so hunger satiating – literally a handful or two quells almost anyone’s hunger. Whilst it’s the fat content of cashew that make them hunger satiating, they have a lower fat content than most other nuts. Further, approximately 82% of their fat is unsaturated fatty acids, plus about 66% of this unsaturated fatty acid content is heart-healthy monounsaturated fats, similar to those found in olive oil.
20% Organic Goji Berries – are particularly renowned for their ability to strengthen the immune system and provide antioxidant protection from free radicals in our bodies . Organic goji berries are considered to be a powerful “adaptogen”, meaning it invigorates and strengthens all bodily systems, in the process enabling us to deal more easily with stress. Finally, Goji Berries are a complete protein, containing in fact 18 amino acids, along with carotenoids, vitamins A, C, and E, and more than 20 other trace minerals and vitamins.
20% Organic Inca Berries – also known as “Golden Berries” or “gooseberries” , these South American exotic berries have a juicy, tangy sweetness which makes it a perfect accompaniment to a trail mix. They’re packed with vitmains A, C, E, K1, B1, B2, and B3, as well as fatty acids and phytosterols. Trace amounts of calcium and iron, plus other minerals, are also found in inca berries.
10% Organic Cacao Nibs – Nature’s raw “chocolate chips” deliver iron and magnesium, powerful antioxidants and the healthy stimulating alkaloids, theobromine and phenethylamine.
10% Organic Pepitas (pumpkin seeds) – aside from their pleasant crunchy texture, are an excellent source of magnesium and zinc, along with omega-3 fats.
