Your idea of a Detox Blend may be entirely different, otherwise add and subtract from the below to come up with your very own, improved, custom-made Detox Blend!
35% Organic Baobab powder – Native to Africa, particularly high in vitamin C. Has an ORAC value considerably higher than blueberry and raspberries. Organic baobab powder is also an excellent source of calcium, iron, magnesium and potassium. Finally, organic baobab powder is an excellent fiber source which is significant for promoting detoxification as it soaks up toxins released into the digestive tract, whilst bulking stool formation for improved bowel function. Baobab also will have a mild laxative effect for most people when taken in higher dosage.
20% Goji berry or Pomegranate powder – both of these are particularly high in detox supporting antioxidants and in the case of goji berry, is particularly renowned for it’s immune defense supporting, adaptogenic qualities. Both add natural sweetness to the weak lemonade taste of the baobab.
15% Organic Wheatgrass powder – when thinking of “detoxing”, many people think of “wheatgrass shots”. Everyone knows about wheatgrass. Due to it’s high chlorophyll content, it’s been marketed for it’s “blood cleansing / blood building” properties for years.
15% Inulin Powder – is a soluble fiber that cannot be digested in the small intestine. It there travels through to the colon where it feeds beneficial bacteria. These healthy bacteria have a large role in eliminating unhealthy bacteria and yeast and therefore are an important element in the body’s detoxing process.
5% Organic Acai powder – perhaps the most popular antioxidant food in the superfood market today. Very high in the anti-aging anthocyanin compound resveratrol. Has 10 times the amount of antioxidants of purple grapes.
2-3% – Organic Chlorella powder – a first class detoxifying agent; particularly good at removing toxins such as alcohol and heavy metals from the liver, along with pesticides, herbicides and PCB’s from the body’s tissues. Much of chlorella’s liver cleansing properties come from it’s high chlorophyll content. Gram for gram chlorella has the highest content of chlorophyll of any plant.
2% – Aloe Vera Extract powder – Aloe improves food digestion and absorption, and enhances the presence of friendly bacterial by acting as a prebiotic. Aloe’s mannose polysaccharide is also effective at killing yeast (candida) and helps normalize pH levels.
1% – Monk Fruit Powder –
For promoting detoxing, aloe vera is potent in activating the liver to produce more glutathione. Glutathione is the “master anti-oxidant” that is critical to the production of white blood cells. Finally, Aloe Vera powder has a laxative effect.
