Q – What is the Minimum Order ?
A – The minimum order for the first order is a total of 200 units.
Within that 200 units you can divide that between two separate products ( for example; 100 x Protein Blend + 100 x Super Greens Blend), or you may wish to have two separate flavours for your one product (i.e 100 x Protein Blend (Raw Chocolate flavoured) + 100 x Protein Blend (Banana Flavoured) )
Q – I wish to start with 3-4 individual products – how does that work?
A – Upon fulfilling the initial 200 unit minimum order ( i.e Product #1 – 100 units, Product #2 – 100 units) , any additional individual products the MOQ per individual product is 50 units.
In other words, if you wanted to start with 4 individual products at MOQ, it would look as follows;
Product #1 – 100 units
Product #2 – 100 units
Product #3 – 50 units
Product #4 – 50 units
Q – After First Order, if I want to add new products, what is the minimum order?
A – As an existing customer, because you have already fulfilled our initial MOQ of 200 units, at any point in the future where you wish to add an entirely new product, the MOQ for that new product is 50 units.
Q – What is the Minimum Re-Order?
A – When re-ordering, the minimum total order is 50 units of product, with a minimum of 25 units per individual product.
Q – How does pricing work?
A – Upon receiving information about your proposed product(s), we’ll give you a quote based on minimum order, (and if you like, a quote well based on a larger volume). Aside from quantity, we base your quote on the raw materials used, net weight of the individual product, labeling and package costs.
Obviously the higher the quantity of order, the less are relative costs, resulting in a lower per unit wholesale price.
Q – Do we do Custom Blends?
A – Yes, in fact that is exactly what we do. Every product we manufacture is unique. On our website we have “Example Products”, which are there simply as a guide (and for some clients) they serve as a useful starting point for formulating their own unique blend(s).
Q – How do I get a quote?
A – You can email through details to firstname.lastname@example.org, however please include your phone number on your enquiry as we don’t provide quotes until we’ve had an initial discussion over the phone.
Better still, please feel free to call Aaron (Founder of PLS) directly on 0457 644 194.
Q – What is discussed on the initial phone call?
A – Aaron will ask you to tell him about your business concept and explain what you want to achieve with the product(s) you wish to develop. He’ll also ask you about how you intend to distribute your products, as well as your marketing strategy etc.
Once some background has been established, we discuss the product(s) you wish to develop – if you already have a good sense of the raw materials you wish to feature, Aaron can give you a ball park figure there and then for cost per unit inclusive of packaging / labels.
The next step then is to formulate recipes and give a written quote. Often this means we’ll go back and forth over email for a day or two devising your recipe(s) until we reach a point where you’re happy with how the recipe(s) look in terms of matching up on;
- Functional Effect
Q – How Does Sampling Work?
A – After receiving your quote and settling on prospective recipe(s), we charge a $500 deposit, which enables us then to create samples for each recipe. At this point, whilst we don’t provide a complete nutritional panel until completing the sampling process, if you wish to know for example the protein or sugars content per serve on your prospective recipe, we can provide you with that information.
With the samples themselves, we create a sample not only of the particular recipe(s) discussed up until that point but also provide a 2nd sample with a slightly different recipe (which may be a improvement on the 1st sample). Often too, we’ll create a 3rd sample per product which will be quite different to samples 1 & 2, in order to give you something else to compare to.
Q – Can I have my labels printed directly on to the pouch?
A – Yes, for individual products printing a minimum of 100 units we can offer 2 printing options;
- digital screen printing on to plastic pouches.
- ink-jet style printing on to kraft paper pouches.
For more information, please refer to our Packaging Options page
Q – Where do we Source our Superfoods?
A – Most of the time we source from Australian based importers who’ve obtained “Australian Certified Organic” status for the particular Superfood being sourced.
Q – Are our Ingredients Organic / Certified Organic?
A – Many of our clients request 100% Organic / Certified Organic ingredients. Certainly we are happy to provide quotes based on such.
Q – Can my Superfoods display the official “Australian Certified Organic” logo?
A – Unfortunately not. We ourselves are not an “Australian Certified Organic” manufacturer. Whilst many of the blends we create contain 100% ACO ingredients, we cannot display the ACO logo. We do however use non-official “certified organic” symbols.
Q – Can I make Health Claims on the Packaging?
A – To some degree yes, but it is important to distinguish what we do as a “Food Business”, as opposed to a “Supplements” business. We are licensed purely as a food business, therefore any health claims on the packaging or website being sold from are kept within the confines of remaining as a “food”, as opposed to a “therapeutic good”.
Q – Do we package products in single serve sachets?
A – No, sorry we don’t. Our smallest net weight product we do is 150gm per unit.
Q – Can I create a blend using Whey Protein Powder?
A – Sorry but no. Here at PLS we’re committed to using only Vegan raw materials.
Q – Are products manufactured by PLS Australia, Therapeutic Goods Association (TGA) or FDA approved?
A – No. We are licensed purely as a Food Business and do not manufacture Therapeutic Goods.
Q – Do we Ship Internationally?
A – No
Q – Can I have a barcode on my back label?
A – Yes, absolutely no problem. We ask though that you purchase your barcodes through a relevant 3rd party and then email through to us. We will then integrate the barcode into the back label.
Q – Do we offer drop shipping?
A – No, we don’t.
Q – Do we offer Packaging in different formats?
A – Yes, aside from Stand-Up Pouches we offer packaging in tubs / jars for orders with an MOQ of 100 units per individual product. See our Packaging Options page for more details.
Q – How long Does it Take to Receive My Order?
A – It really depends on the size and complexity of your order. Also, if we are printing your labels directly on to the pouch, there is usually a 4-8 week lead time to print.
Often it takes a week or two to settle on the recipe(s) for your initial test sample. Once the test sample(s) are sent out and you’ve agreed to move ahead, we order the raw materials and things move quickly from there.
