Time and money are often constraints so we’ve picked a core superfood ingredient which is light on the hip pocket, versatile and can be used in a variety of different quick, yummy ways.
1. Cacao Powder
Most people love chocolate, minus the guilt factor, so raw (Healthy) Chocolate, truly has to be, as the ancient Aztecs called it “food of the Gods”. 2. Cacao Nibs
Cacao this time not powdered but simply cacao beans broken down into small pieces. For the same reasons as Cacao powder, another superfood ingredient to always have in the cupboard for making healthy tasty snacks.
3. Goji Berries
Are great by the handful, or again incorporated into a Trail Mix. Goji berries are the perfect healthy, great tasting superfood snack.

4. Mesquite Powder
Mesquite powder is a less well known superfood, but one we highly recommend you always have in the cupboard. Superbly nutrient dense and tastes terrific. Traditionally used as a flour, it has a mild nutty flavor, with a hint of caramel. An excellent Low GI food that adds natural sweetness.

5. Lucuma Powder
Lucuma powder similar to mesquite powder is a good superfood to have stored for making healthy snacks. Lucuma is naturally sweet but low on the glycemic index, making it a healthy sweetner added to food and recipes as it has a delightful but subtle maple/caramel-like taste. It’s a popular superfood to add to smoothies, yogurt, cereal, desserts, and baked goods, although personal favourite is using it in a warm beverage.

6. Bee Pollen
The addition of Bee pollen to any snack food makes it healthy.
Here’s some ways to incorporate it
- Use granules as a topping over yogurt or cereal
- Add ground bee pollen tohomemade granola while it is still moist and sticky.
- Blend ground pollen or granules into a smoothie
- Incorporate into raw protein bars or raw desserts.
- Sprinkle directly over a salad or incorporate into a honey mustard salad dressing.
- Sprinkle over popcorn
- Garnish on top of dark chocolate
- When having toast with Hazelnut Chocolate spread, sprinkle with bee pollen granules.
